what's happening

By Binding Love Team, Jan 1 2017 09:43PM

As we look back at 2016 we recognize that God continues to be our CEO! God is faithful to carry out what He started through Binding Love! From a simple fundraising idea to a ministry that is touching the lives of hundreds of people around the world! God has surely taken my loaves and fish and used it for His glory! I continue to dream and anticipate how God will use our faithfulness in 2017!

We praise God for all that was accomplished this past year!!

- We were able to send over $10,000 to Thailand in support of ministries on the front lines fighting against human trafficking.

- Our volunteers included church groups, college clubs, neighborhood friends, high school sports teams and many individuals.

- We participated in local events bringing awareness to human trafficking and partnered with ministries across our nation.

- We added new retailers and increased our volunteer base as people continue to join in bringing change to our world.

To everyone that purchased a scarf, volunteered or shared about Binding Love we say Thank You!

Every scarf really does make a difference in the fight against human trafficking, in the hearts of each volunteer, and in the lives of every girl we support in Thailand! We were honored to see this first hand as our founder and her entire family, travelled to Thailand and continued to build relationships with the homes and girls that Binding Love supports.

We look forward to 2017 as God continues to lead us into more growth and making an impact in the lives of everyone we connect with! Join us in 2017, by purchasing a scarf, sharing about the injustice of human trafficking or volunteering!

My prayer for 2017 as we all volunteer with Binding Love....

"O Lord, you hear the desire of the afflicted;

you will strengthen their heart; you will incline your ear

to do justice to the fatherless and the oppressed,

so that man who is of the earth may strike terror no more." Psalm 10:17-18

Our God is able, may we be His hands and feet!!!

We are so humbled and blessed by the love of Josie Lewis and the legacy she left to us at Binding Love! I never had the pleasure of meeting her, but her life has impacted mine in a powerful way! In leu of flowers, Josie's friends and family have given over $1,500 towards Binding Love. With that financial blessing Josie's legacy has made an immediate impact on our ministry and the women and girls we serve through Binding Love. We were able to purchase much needed items for the two homes in Thailand. We can not say Thank You enough to those that have given and supported us in this way!

Much Love,

Audra Peifer

Founder, Binding Love

Josie Lewis lived her life as a vessel of God’s love. Whether she was helping one of her daughters (Michelle and Angie), spending time with her grandkids (Adam, Alex, Hannah, Maddy, Livy and Brett), helping a friend (too many to list!), or speaking an encouraging word to a stranger, Josie chose to spread God’s love to those around her. Despite facing difficult life circumstances, such as a painful divorce, a horrific car accident and a diagnosis of ovarian cancer, Josie continually chose joy, grace and forgiveness.

In 2010, Josie traveled to India with her daughter, Angie, to minister God’s love to young women in Kalimpong. The trip was a highlight for Josie, and she found her heart was quick to embrace the women/girls she met there. Years later, Josie learned about Binding Love Scarves and felt an immediate connection to its mission. Josie understood the pain expressed by women who felt they had no voice. As she reflected on her own life, she realized that, when she was younger, she didn’t recognize her beauty, value and talents. Through the power of God’s love and truth, Josie was able to find her voice and recognize her beauty as one of God’s precious daughters. It became one of her greatest desires that other women find their voice as well.

Josie was diagnosed with leukemia (2014) and underwent a bone marrow transplant on June 30, 2015. In the midst of painful side effects and numerous setbacks, Josie continued to show love, joy and encouragement to those around her, including the doctors, nurses, patients, and staff she interacted with each week. On February 28, 2016, Jesus embraced Josie into His healing arms.

Knowing Josie’s heart connection to Binding Love’s mission to help young women in Thailand’s sex trafficking industry, Josie’s family chose Binding Love as the recipient of any donations people wanted to make in Josie’s honor. It’s the family’s desire to continue Josie’s legacy of love and empowering you to find your voice through the ministry of Binding Love! - Written by the family of Josie Lewis

Thank You to the friends and family of Josie Lewis, we will share with so many the impact and legacy Josie has left!!! -Binding Love Team

To all of our followers, supporters and friends,

Since the beginning of Binding Love we have been able to send over $15,000 to the homes we support in Thailand. This has helped these ministries continue to fight human trafficking on the front lines as they take care of over 60 girls they work with. Each girl has a name, a story and life full of purpose!

We are SO EXCITED to share the news about us taking our next steps with Binding Love!! We will finally be visiting these two homes and seeing first hand how Binding Love can continue to support them. As Binding Love has grown, so has the desire to do more and to help make bigger impacts in the fight against Human Trafficking!

Our trip objectives are:

- First hand experience with these ministries

- Encouraging their staff

- Understand and hear each homes future goals

- Build relationships with the girls they serve

- We are prayerfully seeking the Lord to direct us in collecting info, details and pictures to be able to lead teams back to Thailand in the coming years.

Mainly, we want to strengthen the relationship we have with these ministries, we want to bless them and to come back with renewed passion, stories and encouragement to share with all of you!!!

Each scarf truly does make a difference and we would not be at this place without the efforts of SO MANY volunteers over the past 3 years. Each person that has cut fabric, paired a scarf, shared our story and bought a Binding Love scarf has brought us to this point.

We are asking you to be a part of this trip. As full time missionaries we rely on the support of people that believe in the work we do for the Lord around the world. We have booked tickets, contacted the ministries and will be going to Thailand for 3 weeks in the end of March - April. Our 4 sons and another Youth With A Mission staff will be traveling with us. This is a big step of faith, but we are trusting the Lord to guide us!

There are two ways that you can be involved.

1. You can donate to us to help cover some of the costs we will have with a trip this size. Our trip cost will be around $7,000.00 for airfare, travel costs and time in Thailand. We were so blessed that Eden House has offered to host us and that we found low cost airfare.

2. You can also donate to specific needs that we are hoping to fill for Eden House and House of Refuge. A few of the items we would like to purchase for these ministries are more Christian young reader books for thier expanding library and some video equipment. More items will be added to the list as the ministries respond to our request to bless them.

To make a tax deductable donation mail check to:

Your donation can go further!!!

We are honored to share that Victory Church, our home congregation has also taken their next steps in supporting us and helping bring this vision to life. Victory has supported us in the past, through hosting events, spotlighting us and standing with us in prayer. Victory Church has generously offered to match the first $2,000.00 donated to this trip. Their support of Global and Local missions has been so encouraging to us and many others. Thank You, Victory Church!!!

Thank You to everyone that has been a part of this journey with Binding Love and helping to make a difference in the lives of so many! We are trusting the Lord, for this next step and would love for you to join us through prayer and financial support!!

Binding Love has been growing and impacting so many lives in Thailand and here in Lancaster. This growth would not be possible without the help and support of so many people.

One of our promoters has been Victory Church PA in Lancaster. This is our, founder, Audra Peifer's, home church and we are so blessed to be a part of their community! They have taken the time to showcase our ministry at one of their women’s conferences for hundreds of local women. They have highlighted Binding Love in their church wide missions promo and have personally supported and encouraged us in this ministry!

We believe in the local church and it has been such a source of strength as we have grown! We encourage all of you to find a local church to be a part of!!

Get connected, make a difference and serve!!!!

Colossians 3:23-24 Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ.

Thank You Victory Church PA for your continued support. We are honored to serve the Lord with you.

This summer our team had the opportunity to serve on the island of St.Croix with Youth With A Mission. During our time there we worked closely with one of their ministries called Kings Kids. Kings Kids consists of week long Bible camps and monthly weekend gatherings throughout the year. We were invited to engage the students in serving with Binding Love and hearing about how God has led this ministry and used so many people to make a difference in Thailand. For a few hours the young people became practical hands of Jesus as they cut fabric and prepared material to be turned into scarves.

From so many places in the world God is calling people to be a part of Binding Love as they serve in the many areas available and purchase these scarves that give so much back. Since our time in St.Croix with Kings Kids one of the staff has begun advocating for Binding Love on the Island of St.Croix. She is now leading the way of making scarves, promoting and selling them on the island and to visitors at YWAM. Go Cherilyn Derusha , We love you!!!

Our God has no boundaries and in His infinite wisdom He has taken this ministry into other areas of the world. We are Blessed to serve and have others serve with us in this ministry!!
